So what's it all about?

By now you’ve probably seen something about York Business Games, heard it mentioned or seen some of our amazing social media. But you might be thinking ‘what actually *is* the York Business Games’?!

We’re very happy to tell you – it’s going to be amazing!

Hosted by York Conferences and York Sport, the Business Games offer local companies the chance to compete in a series of challenges across the city, working as a team whilst raising money for charities of their choice.

The games will begin on Wednesday the 1st of May with a traditional school sports day. Teams will be put through their paces by a team of ‘teachers’ with challenges include egg and spoon races, sack races and three legged races.

The next event will see the teams compete in a cocktail making championship. Each group will be issued with the same set of ingredients and shown how to make some signature cocktails, before working on their own versions for the judges.

The third challenge will be hosted at York Sports Village with teams participating in several bike challenges, including team relay races and a team race with all 6 team members on the same bike!

The fourth event is a Treasure Hunt, where teams compete against each other in a race through the city as they try to solve the clues and puzzles based on the ‘hidden history’ of the city.

The next challenge will be held at Energi trampoline park and will consist of a trampoline-dodgeball tournament where the last team standing will be crowned the winners.

The final event of the Business Games will consist of an ‘un-cheatable’ pub quiz where teams will fight it out to be named general knowledge champions.

Prizes will be awarded following the final challenge, with an overall winning team being crowned York Business Games champions.

We’re really looking forward to seeing how teams take on each challenge, what new skills they learn and most importantly – how much fun they will have doing it!

The Business Games are open to any company working in the York area. Teams can consist of up to 10 individuals, and 6 members will be required to take part in each challenge. Every team taking part will also benefit from the great range of discounts and offers for those taking on the challenges.

Signups cost £150 per team, which includes all your equipment and ingredients for every challenge.
